Robot Arm Stabilizers start out as flat sheets and are formed into cylinders around the arms or legs. The cylinders prevent elbows and knees from bending, thus preventing sudden, unsafe movements. The stabilizers are easy to apply and remove, and are non threatening for patients and parents.
We have offered the elbow and knee stabilizers for many years, with a 2-sided Velcro® construction. Customers loved the concept, but the material was not quite substantial enough and tended to allow bending on the part of stronger patients. We heard you!
Our new construction is lightweight yet far less susceptible to bending and has a foam interior for patient comfort. We still use Velcro closures, but a lot less of the "hook” that tends to hold onto lint and hair. We have also simplified the number of sizes.
