The Small Boards are available only in the straight version. The Medium and Large Boards are available in Hinged and Straight versions. The hinged boards conform to the "crook" of the dental chair, while the straight boards are rigid. Which is better? It's a matter of individual preference. The hinged allows the patient to be in more of an upright position as he or she is settled in. This provides a more secure feeling - a valuable benefit, especially for patients who are nervous to begin with. The hinged board is also useful for patients with respiratory or cardiac issues. Some dentists prefer the rigid board for the extra control they feel it provides. Your choice!
The Rainbow® Head Tilt sits on the board to lift the upper torso and help keep the patient's head in the "chin up" position.
The Knee Support relieves pressure on the back, and helps keep the patient positioned in the dental chair.
